St. Mary's Municipal Transfer Station 

Location: 150 Cape Geoggan Rd, Goldenville
Hours of Operation: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 9:00am to 4:30pm

  • Compost
  • Clear Bag Garbage tipping fee $2/bag

Now Accepting items containing Mercury

Mercury is a toxic pollutant that threatens the health of humans, fish and other wildlife. By recycling mercury-containing products such as CFL Bulbs and Thermometers you can help reduce the amount of mercury entering our environment. Bring your mercury-containing products to the Municipal Transfer Station and we'll recycle them for you, free of charge. For more information visit:

Please note, collection times can change due to staffing, weather, traffic, construction, etc. Cancellations are advertised with local media. Residents are reminded all items must be to the curb prior to 8:00 a.m. on collection day.

Please have your bags by the roadside by 7am. The garbage limit is up to 4 bags per household per week, with unlimited recycling. Maximum weight for bulky item accepted is 400lbs, and 7 ft high x 6 ft wide is the max that will fit through the door. 

Zone 1: Tuesdays

New Chester, Ecum Secum, Liscomb to Sherbrooke including and Old Road Hill.

Zone 2: Wednesdays

East Loon Lake, Smithfield, Glenelg church road, Aspen, to Goshen to Borneo Road inclusive.

Zone 3: Thursdays

Hwy 211, IHL to Port Bickerton, Stillwater, West Melrose, Lead Minds Rd, to Waternish inclusive.

Eastern Shore Cartage Garbage Collection will be changing to the bi-weekly schedule in the middle of the month. Recycling schedule remains on a bi-weekly schedule. See calendar attached at back of this newsletter. ESC Toll Free 1-800-261-0372

Recycables Week: Recyclable items (blue bags), Bag #1 Paper & Clean Boxboard,  Bag #2 containers, glass, metal, plastics, Corrugated Cardboard (flattened & tied in bundles)
Garbage Week: Garbage (clear bags) - each clear bag may contain one and only one solid color bag for personal items. PLUS now accepting one bulky item during garbage week. 

RECYCLING – Lets Sort It Right

1. Never put paper and containers into the same blue bag.
Remember: If they are mixed together in the same bag they will be rejected for collection as they are not acceptable for recycling.
2. Cardboard boxes should be emptied, flattened and tied into a bundle for collection.
3. Paper must be clean and dry to be recycled.
4. Food and drink containers must be rinsed clean and dry.
5. If in doubt call with your question.
