As you are most likely already aware,  tropical storm Philippe is expected to impact the Maritimes this weekend. Current forecasts at the time of this note indicate that the path and the storm centre will pass slightly to the West of Nova Scotia. The Eastern Shore including St Mary’s may receive coastal wind gusts up to 100KM/HR, inland wind gust estimates are at 70+ KM/HR. Heavy rain is also expected. The peak activity date is expected to be Sunday.  Having said that, the expected activity will vary from forecast to forecast. Such weather could cause power outages and other impacts. It is better to be prepared than unprepared and now is the time to remain vigilant and review your personal preparedness program.
