Newsletter Corrections:
- Please note that the Council Meeting scheduled for March 13th is at 4:00pm, not 7:00pm.
- Please note that the Curling Bonspiel is taking place on March 10th & 11th, not March 11th & 12th.
Delayed Opening (March 3, 2023):
Due to poor road conditions, the opening of all municipal buildings will be delayed until noon and reassessed at 11am. This includes the Municipal Office and Transfer Station.
Staff will be working remotely and available to answer questions or concerns by email or by contacting 902-522-2049.
Bulky Item Pick-Up (March 3, 2023):
Please note, due to weather, the pick-up scheduled for tomorrow, March 3rd, 2023 for pre-recorded bulky items will take place on Saturday March 4th, 2023. Bulky items put out that were not previously recorded by Eastern Shore Cartage this week, will not be picked up until the next scheduled run.
Winter Storm Update- March 2- March 3:
• The area that stretches from Mahone Bay to the Minas Basin over to Guysborough County including Halifax= Total snowfall within this area will likely be in the 20 to 30 cm range.
• This area of heavy snow the nature of it will be wet and sticky so weighted down trees and tree branches are a distinct possibility.
• On a positive note, the timing for this heavier snow will be in the overnight hours where traffic is at a minimum.
• Expecting gusts in the 50 to 70 km/h range with the higher gusts being along the Atlantic Coast.
• By Friday morning this low will be moving away from Nova Scotia.
