Updated Regulations for Fixed-Roof Accomodations
The Province of Nova Scotia has made amendments to the Tourist Accommodations Registration Act (TARA) and Regulations that aim to improve compliance and provide municipalities with a clear picture of the short-term rental situation in their communities.
Under the updated regulations, all short-term rentals – including those within people’s homes – must register annually with the Tourist Accommodations Registry and include their registration number in their online booking platform listings.
