Tick Season Information
Spring is finally here in Nova Scotia, and with it warmer weather and more time outside. Tick populations are growing Nova Scotia. It is important to protect yourself and your family from ticks while enjoying the outdoors.
Ticks live in or near woods, shrubs and long grass. They are very small, which makes them hard to spot, and their bites are painless.
In addition to precautionary measures to avoid contact with ticks – wearing socks and closed-toed shoes, for example – we’re also encouraging Nova Scotians to make tick-checks part of their daily routine. Tick checks help prevent tick-borne diseases like Lyme disease.
