The Municipality of the District of St. Mary's is currently inviting request for proposals(RFP's) for the "Supply of an Ultraviolet Disinfection Unit" and for the "Supply of Aeration Equipment". Please take note that the provincewide fire ban has been extended to include backyard firepits as well as bush and other open fires. The fire risk is high because of dry conditions, winds and low humidity. Check before you burn. Restrictions are updated daily at 2 pm at novascotia.ca/burnsafe.

The Province announced this week that the Fall 2020 Municipal Elections will take place on October 17^th, 2020 as scheduled in Nova Scotia. The Municipality will explore the various options afforded by the Municipal Elections Act to ensure a safe and democratic election that conforms with public health directives, if necessary. Additional information on the 2020 election including being added to the voters list and polling details will be provided over the next couple of months. The Municipality of St. Mary’s would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the St. Mary’s Lions Club for their kindness and generosity.  This week Lion’s Club members prepared and distributed treats to front-line workers within the Municipality to show appreciation for their dedicated service during this difficult time.
