Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Strong southerlies ahead of an intense trough of low pressure will develop over the western portion of the province overnight tonight reaching Cape Breton by Thursday morning. Winds will diminish from west to east across the province Thursday.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
