A weather pattern is currently setting up which will bring large amounts of tropical moisture to Nova Scotia over the next couple of days.

Although rain is not expected to be continuously heavy, there will be periods of very heavy rain which could overwhelm some drainage systems and result in flash flooding. The localized nature of these extreme rainfall rates makes it impossible to pinpoint exactly where this will occur but there is a slightly higher risk in the St. Margarets Bay/western HRM area, middle Eastern Shore and parts of Cape Breton. Generally speaking, total amounts in these areas would be in the 40 to 80 mm range.

Residents should limit travel if possible and be prepared for potential areas of flooding.

Your local legion is looking for Champions.
Your local service club, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 is in serious trouble.
Over the years, Branch 56 has supported community activities such as Remembrance Day services, Canada Day parades, the local Foodbank, and providing bursaries to any St. Mary's Academy graduate attending a local community college program. Recently we have been working with the Sherbrooke Village Development Society to restore our cenotaph and present an appropriate centerpiece to honour our fallen.
We are requesting everyone to consider becoming a member to help us further our work, whether it be an Ordinary Member (served in any of the forces or RCMP) Associate Member (relatives), Affiliate Member (Canadian or Commonwealth citizen), or Affiliate non-voting (those from an Allied Nation who support RCL).
Without your assistance, we're afraid we cannot continue our service to the community and our responsibility to our veterans.
Please visit https://legion.ca/home or https://legion.ca/join-us to review the opportunities and benefits of membership.
