Wreaths were laid (For the Community Centre) by Kim Smith, (for the Municipality) Warden James Fuller and Brenda Stanfield, (for the United Church, not pictured) Bev MacMillian.

The rainfall received over the past two weeks has helped with ice preparation, and staff continue to monitor conditions closely. The Municipality is aiming to open the St. Mary’s Recplex for the 2025 season on November 24, 2025. If any disruptions to the ice-making process occur, updates will be shared as opening day approaches.Thank you for your continued patience and support!

During Municipal Awareness Week, we’re taking a moment to recognize the dedicated staff who keep the Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s organized, efficient, and responsive to the needs of our residents. Behind every program, service, and decision is a strong administrative team working together to support Council and the community.

The CAO is the senior administrator for the Municipality and is responsible for the overall management of municipal operations. They work closely with Council to implement policies, strategic goals, and programs that serve residents. The CAO oversees all departments, provides leadership to staff, ensures compliance with municipal legislation, and helps guide the long-term vision for St. Mary’s.

The Municipal Clerk and Receptionist are often the first point of contact for residents and visitors. They provide vital administrative support across all departments, maintain records and correspondence, assist with meeting preparation and documentation, and help ensure municipal operations run smoothly. Their friendly and professional service helps connect residents with the information and support they need every day.

The Director of Finance/Treasurer manages the Municipality’s financial health. This includes preparing budgets, managing accounts and payroll, overseeing taxation and billing, and ensuring financial accountability. Their careful management helps ensure that public funds are used efficiently and responsibly to support community services and infrastructure.

Together, these team members form the backbone of the Municipality’s administration—working collaboratively to provide effective governance, transparent operations, and exceptional service to the residents of St. Mary’s.
