Please be advised that Eastern Shore Cartage may not be able to access all residents today due to flooded areas. If your solid waste is not picked up today, please note that it will be picked up on the next scheduled solid waste day, with additional bags allowed. Please also ensure your garbage is not close to any potential flood areas. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring everyone’s safety. 

Due to rising high waters, areas of the Municipality maybe flooded including Hwy 7 at Lochiel Lake, Stillwater, Aspen, McKeen Lake, West Side Lochiel Lake Rd, Forbes Branch Rd, Glenelg Church Rd and Melrose bridge. Road crews are on site at some locations. When travelling throughout the Municipality please use caution. Please report any hazard areas to the Municipal Office at 902-522-2049.

Municipal Holiday Community Grant
St. Mary’s Municipal Council recognizes that the past two years have been extremely hard on community organizations in the Municipality with limited fundraising opportunities. Municipal council values the hard work of volunteers and the vital role they play in making St. Mary’s a great place to live, work and visit. Council has developed a one-time Holiday Community Grant available to non-profit organizations, community groups, and specific community project sponsors, within the Municipality of St. Mary’s who demonstrate financial need or provide a funding breakdown of a particular project. Grant requests up to a maximum of $4,000 per application will be considered. Funds will be awarded based on project description and demonstration of financial need.
Application forms are available through your local councillor, at the municipal office, or online through the Municipal website. Deadline for applications is Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 at 1pm and applications must be submitted to your local Councillor. Applications will be reviewed, and only successful grant recipients will be notified the week of December 20th, 2021. Council reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications.
