A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Guysborough County, forecasting a total rainfall of 40 to 60 mm overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Periods of rain with embedded downpours or thunderstorms are expected. Similar storms in the past have caused water pooling on road surfaces, road shoulder erosion and washouts as well as elevated river levels.

St. Mary’s Municipal Council is pleased to announce that at a Special Council Meeting held on Wednesday, August 23rd, Council appointed Douglas Patterson as the new Chief Administrative Officer.  Warden, Council and Staff are excited and look forward to having Doug join the St. Mary’s municipal team, Doug will begin the position on September 5th.
