Income Tax Super-Clinics
This April, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is partnering with Service Canada and the provincial government to offer additional services at one-stop “Super-Clinics”.
Sydney – Thursday, April 4th 4pm - 8pm Royal Canadian Legion
Truro – Saturday, April 6th 10am – 3pm Truro Library
Kentville – Friday, April 12th 4:30pm – 8:30pm Salvation Army
Halifax – Saturday, April 13th 10am – 3pm Capt. William Spry Community Centre
Dartmouth – Tuesday, April 16th 3pm – 7pm Dartmouth North Community Food Centre 140-6 Primerose St.

Free Tax Filing on site – The Canada Revenue Agency, local volunteers & community partners are collaborating to complete and file tax returns at no charge. Identification and tax information is required. For free tax filing individuals need to have a simple tax situation and modest income. Suggested maximum household income levels are as follows:
1 person - $35,000 2 person - $45,000 3 person - $47,500 4 person $50,000
5 person - $52,000 5+ person - $52,000 + $2,500 per person
Sign up for the Canada Learning Bond – Eligible families have been invited to sign up for the Canada Learning Bond for their school-age children. No cost or investment is required. Provincial representatives will be available to help with the online sign up. Children must have a Social Insurance Number. No invitation? Come by anyway!
Get a Social Insurance Number – Service Canada will be on-site to provide SINs. Bring your child’s birth certificate to obtain a SIN for them, which is necessary to register for the Canada Learning Bond.
Rebate & Consumer Information – Service Nova Scotia will be providing information on provincial rebates and other consumer programs.
Liscomb Solid Waste Pick Up - March 5, 2019
Mailmans Point Road and Mailman Branch Road in Liscomb were considered too icy for safe travel. The driver will reassess the roads on his way back this afternoon.
If not recovered today the driver will attempt again on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
