Municipal Facilities Update:
Please be advised that the Municipal Transfer Station is closed today, Sunday, September 25, 2022 and the road is impassable due to downed trees. The Municipality is working to have the road cleared in order for the facility to be open to residents tomorrow, Monday September 26th and asks residents that have brush to dispose of, to please wait until the Transfer Station is open and not to dump on other's property.
The Municipal Office will re-open tomorrow to residents with limited capabilities. Internet and phone lines may still be down, but the office will be open for those that have questions, or would like to charge devices or have access to washroom facilities.
Road Closures:
Please be advised that the following roads are closed. These sites are expected to be closed to traffic and access around the site will be restricted.
- CAMERON SETTLEMENT to GUYSBOROUGH-PICTOU COUNTY LINE- Please be advised Route 348 from Smithfield to Sunny Brae will be closed due to downed trees.

Sherbrooke Public Library Closure
Sherbrooke Public Library is closing early at 1pm today, September 23.
Hurricane Fiona Update
Hurricane Fiona set to make landfall as a powerful and dangerous post-tropical storm in eastern Nova Scotia early Saturday. Some storm impacts will develop well in advance of landfall. Severe wind, rain and storm surge impacts expected especially across eastern and central Nova Scotia. It is expected that residents may be without power or water and should be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Gather your emergency essentials. Make sure you have a flashlight, batteries, ready-to-eat food and lots of fresh water and an emergency kit.
2. Charge your phone so you can stay connected.
3. Report any power outages online at http://outagemap.nspower.ca and watch the outage map for the most up to date information and estimated restoration times.
